Movie Reviews: Red Notice
December 7, 2021
Red Notice is a Netflix original, although it was originally made by Universal Studios in 2018. Netflix bought it off them for 160 million dollars, making it one of the most expensive purchases in the streaming services history. It has now been watched for a total of 277.9 million hours, according to Netflix.
Description
Starring Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Gal Gadot. Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) is the greatest con-man in the world. An FBI agent named John Heartly (Dwayne Johnson) is hot on his trail as Nolan hunts down the three golden eggs of Cleopatra. When the greatest art thief in the world, simply known as The Bishop (Gal Gadot), comes into play, the two are forced to team up to get to the eggs before her. The film itself is terribly criticized, with more than a few negative reviews, but this review is much different. We are going to evenly grade the film.
Pros
The big pro of this movie is its charismatic cast. The three main characters, Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds are all popular action comedy actors, making them perfect for this movie. With many twists, comedic moments and action packed stunts, the movie itself lives up to its huge budget. Not to mention the incredible sets, bringing us around the world.
Cons
Although the actors are amazing, I couldn’t bring myself to connect with their characters. A few of the twists were expected, with the film dropping just a few too many hints. The script could use some more work as well.
All in all, the movie has good and bad. Personally, I enjoyed it, and recommend you try it yourself on Netflix. This article isn’t meant to tell you what its like. That’s for you to decide.
