Persona 5 R (The Royal)

Persona 5 was released specifically for Japan in September 2016, and released worldwide in April 2017. It was released for the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, published by Atlus in Japan and North America and Deep Silver in Europe and Australia.

Atlus made a teaser on December 30, 2018 announcing a game called Persona 5 R, but no one knew what the R stood for. Many fans made speculations about what the R stood for, such as Red since that was Persona 5’s main color scheme, or Ruby since Persona 4 also had a remake game called Persona 4 Gold. They also made a website about a new game called Persona 5 S on April 2, 2019.

On the 24th and 25th of April 2019, Atlus revealed gameplay for Persona 5 The Royal and Persona 5 S. They revealed the full name of Persona 5 S, which is Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. Many fans were disappointed by this reveal because they expected P5S to be a port of Persona 5 to the Nintendo Switch. However, it is still a game available for switch players, but it is a hack-and-slash type of game.

Atlus is currently teasing screenshots of gameplay of P5R on the website they created for it. The game will come out in October, 2019 for Japan, and in 2020 for the rest of the world. Everyone is excited for this new release.
